Materials

Ar-Tex is able to offer a complete range of compounds for every type of application: NBR, HNBR, VMQ, FVMQ, EPDM, ACM, ECO, FKM, AEM, CR, FFKM, IIR-BUTYL. A special note should be reserved to our research effort for materials suitable for contact with drinking water, gas and other products internationally recognized by bodies such as Germany’s KTW and DVGW, UK’s WRC, USA’s UL and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 (official listing), France’s ACS and Italy’s Cerisie.

Nitrile rubber (NBR)

Resistant to: Similar to NBR but with higher service temperatures and better chemical resistance. Resists ozone, diluted acids and bases, hot water with steam Not resistant to: Ketones, esters, aldehydes, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons, amines, strong acids.

Hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR)

Resistant to: Similar to NBR but with higher service temperatures and better chemical resistance. Resists ozone, diluted acids and bases, hot water with steam Not resistant to: Ketones, esters, aldehydes, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons, amines, strong acids.

Ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM)

Resistant to: Water, steam, atmospheric agents, ozone, salt solutions, brake fluids, diluted acids and bases, detergents, phosphoric esters, acetates, ketones, aldehydes, alcohols, glycols, amines. Not resistant to: Mineral oils and greases, halogenated solvents, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.

Fluorinated Rubber (FPM)

Resistant to: Aliphatic, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons, atmospheric agents and ozone, methane and LPG, mineral oils and greases, aggressive fuels. Resistant to flame propagation. Not resistant to: Ketones, aldehydes, low molecular weight esters.

Silicon rubber (VMQ):

Resistant to: Oxidizing chemicals, diluted salt solutions, diluted acids and bases, amines, ozone, UV radiation, atmospheric agents, brake fluids (not derived from petroleum), low aromatic motor oils, vegetable and animal oils, hot water up to 90°C. Not resistant to: Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, strong acids and bases, superheated steam, mineral oils with high aromatic content.

Polyacrylic rubber (ACM

Resistant to: Ozone, atmospheric agents, oils and mineral greases at high temperatures. Not resistant to: Water, steam, alcohols, glycols, esters, amines, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons.

Ethylene-acrylic rubber (AEM - Vamac)

Resistant to: Ozone, steam, alcohols, glycols, esters, amines, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons: Like polyacrylic with better resistance to heat and low temperatures, worse resistance to oils. Not resistant to: Like polyacrylic.

Epichlorohydrin (ECO)

Resistant to: Similar to nitrile with ozone and weather resistance, fuel and low temperature resistance. Not resistant to: Ketones, esters, aldehydes, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons, steam, acids, brake fluids.
